Your chronic illness has you facing so many new limitations, but your career trajectory doesn’t have to be one of them
You’re frustrated because you’ve seen all the doctors (and then some) and have tried all the natural remedies but can’t resolve your symptoms
You’re asking yourself
how can I stay focused and productive at work when my symptoms keep getting in the way?
what can I do to stop worrying about losing my job or stalling my career because of my illness?
how do I deal with feeling isolated and misunderstood by my colleagues and managers?
is it even possible to balance my health needs with the demands of my career?
how can I rebuild my confidence and feel capable of taking on new challenges again?
I’ve been there…
Hi, I’m Jeanne
I’m a health and leadership coach who helps women thrive in their professional careers despite being diagnosed with a chronic illness, such as ME/CFS, MS, Long Covid, auto-immune, etc, which comes with symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, nausea, vertigo, etc which severely impacts their ability to focus and function effectively at work.
When I first got my diagnosis, I had crushing fatigue and was barely able to stand for more than five minutes at a time, or even pick up a book. Was this my life now? I was convinced I’d lose my job because of my health limitations. I mean, it’s not like I was a construction worker, it was a desk job, but still… I can barely keep up. And what about long term, if I can barely keep up now, how will anyone be able to give more responsibility?
I fought hard to look like I was FINE. Everything was FINE! I didn’t ask for support (because I thought that would make me look weak and honestly, I wasn’t sure that was safe in my job), and to pull it off, I sacrificed everything else to prioritize my job. No family, no friends, no nothing. If I wasn’t working, I was sleeping to conserve enough energy for the next workday.
Spoiler Alert: That was a terrible idea.
I still have days where fatigue gets to me and I have to do a bit more to manage my energy. But that’s okay, because I have strategies in place that allow me to take unplanned days off when needed without falling behind.
Here’s what I learned…
Focus on what matters
I used to think that effort and long hours translated to success, but it just left me exhausted. The real game-changer was learning to focus on what truly matters. I realized that recognizing the things that made a real impact—not just busy work—was the key to getting noticed and making progress. Now, I teach you how to zero in on what counts, so your efforts get the recognition they deserve.
Simplify and Save Your Energy
If there’s one thing chronic illness taught me, it’s that time and energy are precious. I learned the hard way that systems and automation are lifesavers. By setting up simple, smart processes, I was able to save mental energy and free up time to focus on the bigger picture (brain fog be damned, I have technology!). Let me show you how to make life easier, so you can spend your energy where it really matters.
Build Your Tribe
Going it alone? Been there, done that—and trust me, it’s not the way forward. One of the most powerful lessons I learned was the value of having a trusted professional network. Finding those few colleagues who “get it” can make all the difference. I’ll help you build your own tribe of supporters (safely!) who will have your back, both mentally and physically, every step of the way.
Mindset is Everything
Here’s the truth: none of these strategies work unless you’ve got the right mindset. I had to shift from focusing on what I couldn’t do to embracing what I could. It wasn’t easy, but that change in perspective was everything. Together, we’ll work on developing that resilient mindset—so you can move past your symptoms and start thriving in your career, just like I did.
